The All-Girl Show.

I'm filling in for Sven this week. Plus Tim and Pete are off and Janel and Shayne are filling in.  With Kim, that makes it all girls this morning!  We decided to have a little fun being girly and are sharing our favorite beauty products.

Hands down, mine are homemade make-up remover wipes that I found on Pinterest.  I've modified the recipe just a tad.  They are a huge money saver and they work great! Plus, they double as baby wipes, so I always make a double batch and give half to my sister for Ella!  She loves them too.

Here's my recipe:

1 Roll good quality paper towels (I like Bounty or Viva.)
2 1/4 cups Water
2 Tbsp. Baby shampoo
2 Tbsp Baby oil
Plastic container (I use a sherbet container, My sister uses Tupperware made for storing flour.)

Cut the paper towel roll in half across it's "equator" using a sharp kitchen knife.  You'll have two smaller rolls that look like toilet paper rolls.  Make sure it fits completely inside the plastic container and set aside.  Put the next 3 ingredients into your plastic container and mix gently until combined.

You're basically don't at this point.  It's super easy!

next put the paper towels into the container with the liquid.  I like to dip one side and then flip it over.  Allow all the liquid to be soaked up.  Then pull out the cardboard core of the towels.  Voila!  The towels will dispense from the center.

Use and abuse them, they're fabulous!

My Latest Obsession.

Pinterest is literally taking up all my time lately!  It's such a great tool for keeping ideas organized.  It's a website that works like this:

You see something on the Internet (think recipe or decorating tip) that you want to keep in mind for the future... With Pinterest, you "pin it" onto your personal page and all your ideas are saved for future use in easy to see categories.

You can also see what others, including friends, are pinning and re-pin those if you wish.  It's such a fun site to browse and a great tool for keeping organized!

Here's a few of the things I've pinned recently...

My Latest Obsession.

I'm totally on board with this trend... so it Kate, as in Will and Kate.  engagement rings are no longer limited to diamonds...

Glamour Magazine - Bright Side: The New Engagement Ring

But will these rings stand the test of time and still be in fashion 10 years from now?  Who knows...

My Latest Obession.

I have been off books but lately have started reading again full blast.  I usually get the most quality time with my book while I'm donating Plasma for some extra cash.  My latest read: Escape, by Carolyn Jessop with Laura Palmer.

It's a non-fiction tale about Carolyn's like growing up in the extremist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and her decision to escape.  It's crazy and exciting... like being transported to another time and place into a cult society.

If you are in need of a good read... try this one.
PS, Thanks to Elise for recommending this book to me! I forget about the non-fiction section...

My Latest Obsession.

Well it shouldn't come as a big surprise that I love television, considering my career.  Contrary to what my boss would like to hear, network tv isn't what takes up the majority of mt viewing time.

For years, I've been a huge fan of HGTV.  And I still can't get enough.  But lately I've been cheating on my home and garden favorite for a little do it yourself action... DIY Network!  It's a little more Renovation Realities and a little less House Hunters.  Love it!

Now it's just a battle between Kubes and his ESPN and me and my DIY... :)

My Latest Obsession.

I got the chance to get to know a little bit about local singing duo, Harmony.  Jodi and Dale Ann are sisters that are trying to make it big... all the way to Nashville in the country music scene.  I'm a big fan already and can't wait to hear more from them.

Good luck to the Burden sisters!  Check out the story I did about them HERE on YouTube!

My Latest Obesssion.

So every year there are those Christmas presents that are exactly what you wanted.  This year I didn't even have to ask for mine... Bryan hit it right on the head.

What was it?  A food processor!  Seeing that I am the member of my family that loves to cook, and the only member of the family without a food processor, things weren't adding up.  This will cut my time in the kitchen drastically, and make my time more enjoyable... nothing like a power tool to rev up your life right?
Now there was also a close second for my fav gift of the year... Mom bought me a badly needed couch for a living room that didn't have any furniture.  That was definitely a plus. :)
